Our first fundraiser gets Goldthorpe Scout Group off to a great start

Great support from our new friends Molly and Lynn from the Goldthorpe Development Group
Leaders and supporters of the Group, their families and friends rallied round to provide some fantastic support to pack loads of bags of shopping at Morrisons supermarket today.  In the process we received donations to the value of a whopping £587.77 !

The leaders would like to thank the support of the Goldthorpe Development Group in the form of Molly Partridge and Lynn Mountford.  We had a visit from the new Barnsley District Commissioner, Tina Langley who popped in to see how we were doing and additional support was provided by Ann Oxley, Assistant District Commissioner - Cubs and Helen Arthur, Assistant District Commissioner - Beavers.

Goldthorpe Scout Group Members and Supporters
Special thanks to the young members who all did a great job and really did do a lot of the hard work!

Beaver Scouts are our youngest members, aged between 6 and 8 years.  They meet weekly to take part in a wide range of activities including games, crafts, singing, visits and good turns, along with plenty of outdoor activities.  They will also have the opportunity to take part in the fund and excitement of their first sleepovers in tents.  This may be the first time they spend the night away from home so it's a real adventure for them. If you know a boy or girl aged between 6 and 8 years that lives in or around Goldthorpe, Barnsley, why not let them experience being a Beaver Scout! Applications for our brand new beaver colony are now being accepted, but we will only be recruiting 12 new members initially, so you need to act fast!
