Goldthorpe Beaver Colony saw their final meeting of 2013

on Tuesday the 17th December.

Breeze, our Beaver Scout Leader, gives good instructions

Christmas Crafts, everyone enjoys that, especially Akela Helen

Beaver Scouts say the funniest things

Our newest helper, Fay soon bent that cardboard into the right shape

Along with some great games and a wonderful Christmas story the Beavers learnt a little bit about becoming a Beaver Scout.

We wish them all a very Merry Christmas and are looking forward to seeing them all again at the first Beaver Colony meeting of 2014 on the 7th January.

Cubs Visit Goldthorpe Library

Last week the cubs paid a visit to the local library in Goldthorpe as part of their Book Reader Activity Badge They had a great time as they learnt about the difference between Fiction and Non-Fiction. They discovered where to look in the library for a dictionary and how to use a thesaurus. They found out how the library catalogues their books so that you can find them easily and how you should care for your books so that they last a lifetime. The next stage in this badge is for the cubs to read 6 books. They should be able to name the authors and be able to tell the other cubs about the books they have read. Thanks very much to the staff at the library for showing our cubs the ropes!
