Adult support is required for a fund raising event on behalf of Goldthorpe Scout Group. We will be bag packing on Saturday 2nd November 2013 at Morrisons, Cortonwood from 10am to 3pm, so if you can spare just a couple of hours that day to help us, we'd love to hear from you. Last week the cubs paid a visit to the local library in Goldthorpe as part of their Book Reader Activity Badge They had a great time as they learnt about the difference between Fiction and Non-Fiction. They discovered where to look in the library for a dictionary and how to use a thesaurus. They found out how the library catalogues their books so that you can find them easily and how you should care for your books so that they last a lifetime. The next stage in this badge is for the cubs to read 6 books. They should be able to name the authors and be able to tell the other cubs about the books they have read. Thanks very much to the staff at the library for showing our cubs the ropes!
