Christingle Service 2015 - we packed the church out

A Christingle Message from Goldthorpe Scout Group
As we celebrated our 2nd anniversary of reforming the Scout Group, we held a Christingle service in the local parish church.  Thanks to Father Carl for organising the service and to Breeze and the other leaders who pulled it all together.

Finally thank you to all our Beavers, Cubs and Scouts who behaved brilliantly!  We are proud of our Goldthorpe Scouts.

Since re-opening its doors in December 2013, Goldthorpe Scout Group has successfully established a Beaver Scout Colony and a Cub Scout Pack, offering fun, friendship and adventure for 30 young people aged between 6 and 10 years from across the Dearne Valley.  In less than 12 months time a new Scout Troop will be opened for boys and girls aged between 11 and 14 years. Aged between 6 and 8 years? Live in or around Goldthorpe? Join Beavers - Apply Today!

Beaver Scouts are our youngest members, aged between 6 and 8 years.  They meet weekly to take part in a wide range of activities including games, crafts, singing, visits and good turns, along with plenty of outdoor activities.  They will also have the opportunity to take part in the fund and excitement of their first sleepovers in tents.  This may be the first time they spend the night away from home so it's a real adventure for them. If you know a boy or girl aged between 6 and 8 years that lives in or around Goldthorpe, Barnsley, why not let them experience being a Beaver Scout! Applications for our brand new beaver colony are now being accepted, but we will only be recruiting 12 new members initially, so you need to act fast!
